This light-flash combination is a must-have accesory for such AIS compatible camcorder that don't have flash nor video light. It's like an electric range because it draws energy from the cam's batt, as your electric range draws energy from your electric service company. You understand? The video light is great for lighting up objects that are pretty close but in the center of the frame. The flash part I am trying to convince myself that I didn't waste my money. The flash on my camera is already just as bright, but .. BUT .. this is my selling point. The placement of this flash almost completely eliminates red eye in my family photos.
