This book assumes some basic first-aid knowledge and takes you to the next step with a deeper level of material, specifically focused on wilderness first aid techniques. Traditional first aid courses and materials like those taught by ARC assume an urban setting where paramedics and hospitals are minutes away. I picked up a copy of NOLS Winter Camping and found it to be a fantastic resource. The illustrations were very helpful and the instruction was well organized, easy to read and use.
